I know there was a thread for this but it's gone now. I'd want to know how to do it step by step and… I weight 165 lb and I found the fork (Jr T2 2003, 5 inches) stock a lil bit too stiff for dh. What oil do you recommand for me?

Tanks.

are you talking about the mod were you drill a small hole in the rebound circut?
i would advise against this…my Jr t had this mod when i bought it,and i find although it's quite plush now, while out on a ride yesterday it was bottoming off of anything over 5-6 foot drops to smooth tranny's.

What does this hole do? What are the advantages and disadvantages of the hole.

the hole is supposed to eliminate spiking at high speed, it's only for DH, it doesn't help anything for freeriding.

for your weight the fork should be set up just fine. if it bottoms occasionally already, dont bother. not to mention the Jr.T2 has some shitty internals in it to, and if you are trying to make this fork set up for racing, dont bother, buy something designed for that

it's the SAME internal as a 2003, it's juste 5 inches, bolt-on and 30 mm stanchion.

I'll buy an other fork soon, but I'd realy want to do this mod, someone explained it a while ago but now the forum as been resetted or something, the tread is gone.

not exactly, they use old internals from 2000… you dont get the SSV like the 2001+ Jrs do… either way you should start with lighter oil, or going to you LBS and having them speed up the internal rebound (special tool), before you start drilling irreversible holes in your fork

they arn't irreversable per say ,as they can be refilled with jb weld.
i'd just leave you're fork the way it is.
and the special tool flegm speaks of is a really long 8 mm allen key, made of plastic. i lost mine then found a peice of curtain adjuster thingy that worked jsut fine:???:
anyways,i took the 5 minutes out of my day to adjust the rebound to how i like it,and it's much better.

well… the oil needed to be changed, I did it, fillled it 90mm from the top and it's not a lot better… I think I'll just sell it and get a super t.
