Is Simple Green ok to use as a degreaser?

I use this on my truck to get rid of gease and grime and was wondering if there is a downside to using this for cleaning the chain, gears, etc.

yes,it should be alright.
it's biodegradeable right?if so,then it's fine.just don't use something like oven cleaner on you're bike…it'll eat right through rims and aluminum frames.:eek:

I believe it is biodegradeable, I'll check the lable first though.

Yes it is biodegradable. That's one of the most highly recommended products for a bike-part degreaser (most chain-miantenance guides will tell you to get out the Soilent…I mean Simple…Green ;)).

You bet. I've been using it to clean my bike for years.

I have heard that it may eat into Al if left on it to long. I have not notices this.
