come on shirk, lets see the melt them option…

I build Danb a 2X6 frame that holds the wheels of three bikes in slots. Quite compact, just sits on the floor.

I have one that is very similar to Shirk's, however, I also mounted a strip of 1x4 under each of the tires to prevent the wet and dirty tires from marking the walls.

Not a full on pic from the same spot. But if you look at the top right you can see the shadow from the hooks. So the positive is that hooks survive fire.

If you wanna 'display' them, I'd use a horizontal wall mount, like this:

This is the first one I built in our place.

I've built a second version in our temporary home that does not screw to the wall and is self standing. Will take some pictures of it tonight.

Do you have carpet in your garage or is that picture of something else?

It used to be the dining room of our apartment. We re-arranged the place and set up our dining room table in the opposite corner near a window.

The full rolling cabinet tool chest was acquired when I access to a full heated double car garage back east.

I wish that was a sprinkler. If the building had sprinklers it would have never burned down and we wouldn't have lost everything but the clothes on our backs when we left. It's part of the light fixture from a light that hung over the table.

OH I see, that tool box did throw me off a bit. But we had similar set up in our living room until we moved to a house. I too used plastic over the carpet to keep it clean too, worked very well!

Did your place really burn down? Holy crap. When was that? Sorry dude, this really sucks.

That's a shame but lets keep this thread on topic please.

Guity as charged on both counts. Boots came OEM with the Atom Bomb, although its just sitting in storage right now since I changed it up to an 80mm Atom Bomb without boots for the fashion conscious over the winter. I love bar ends for XC bikes. I wanted a cheap(er) carbon Raceface bar around 25" wide, it had to be 25.4 because the Syncros stem the bike was built around was 25.4 and 120mm long with 10* rise. Most pimper XC flat bars are all quite narrow anyways.

Version 2.0. It's completely free standing nothing screwed to the walls. On the right hand side you can just see the floor to ceiling shelves for organizing packs and gear.

This is a decent looking freestanding one. I have a Trek Workforce unit that has worked well for four bikes for 13 years. I don't think it is produced any more though.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.
