Full suspension awaits: in two weeks, the boys from Transition will be delivering me a shiny new DirtBag. Hurray!
I'm going to the Dark Side
GRATS… getting a new bike is the best feeling….
:thepimp:
post up pics…
how you building 'er up ???
I myself just wandered into the Dark Side as well….Boy, have I been missing out. Nothing beat's rippin' down the trail and having 16 inches of travel to back you up….All I can say is squish, squish.;)
I'm just swapping over parts from the Instigator to the new squish: '03 Slider, 26/24 321/XY, 2.5 Michi front/.243 rear, 8" orange Hayes Mags (w/ Goodridge hoses) f[HTML_REMOVED]r, EA70 bar, Pig headset, RF Prodigy DH cranks, X-9 shifters/der.
It ain't 16 inches, but 12 should be enough for me. Gawdayum, I'm psyched.
Yes yes yes. It was but a matter of time. 2 weeks, eh? Diamondhead, here we come!
sounds dope………….i just switched over too…..got my self a 4by4 and its saweet…..first ride on it was in whistler yestrday and was it ever sick…….but i still love hts
that is funny, my last "real" moutain bike was a Instigator, and I just sent of the money for a new Dirtbag too….I am soooo frickin stoked. Now I just need parts for it….that is going to be the hard part. Kevin at Transition hooked me up pretty good for some things but I still need wheels, brakes, der. and shifter and all that good stuff. Have fun on your Dirtbag, so far my experience with them has been amazing, really good guys to deal with and ther stand behind their product.
My friend just purchased the DirtBag (03), and seems to be loving it. I find the geometry strange, but that's probably because I ride a BULLIT.
He also has a little problem with play in the rear end. At first we thought the shock mount was ovalised, but it turns out it just needed a washer. Remeber this if it happens to you, but they probably fixed it in 04.
Are you planning to buy the Danger Boy plates any time soon?
I know I'm not, puts alot of leverage on the shock, but I hear it is buttery smooth. I bought a large 03 they had sitting around. What size did you get? And what size is your friends.
Friday the 23rd, in the AM, to be more exact (Transition guys are heading up to Crankworx.) Yes, indeed, Diamond Head awaits: no more whinging about P-Nuts on a hardtail. Hell, I might even dare Whistler this season.
Nope, no Dangerboy plates for me. Hey, I'm a virgin: even 6" in the rear is a lot. I'll save the extra inches for when I'm a bit more (ahem) "broken in" :D
I got a Large, because I'm 6'5", and an '04 because I want my first squishy to be rad - i.e., no slop developing in the rear end.
Tick, tick, tick…
Very sweet. want a hand building it up? You're gonna probably need a longer rear brake line, though
did the 03's have an issue with sloppy rear ends?
Zed - Sure, why not? I'd planned having the shop build it up, since I don't have the tools, but if have 'em at home, that'd be cheaper and more educational. I thought ahead when getting my rear goodridge, and had it left longer in order to fit on a different frame.
MP - see Wes' post.
Yeah I saw it, that is why I asked the question. That is one incident….I want to know if it is a widespread issue. I have not come accross that in my research of the bike, and would like to know if I missed soemthing.
