Ha! Are Freudian typos a thing? Def. should have been "wide-rage". I'm fully woke about the existence of fast ladies, don't worry.

Also: $150 for an 11-sp cassette is reasonable. I'll still choose 10-speed (SunRace cogs/XT derailleur/XTR shifter) for as long as possible; I'm actually considering the 9-speed MicroSHIFT for my hardtail. I miss thicker chains and cogs. My dream group would be 9 or 10-speed wireless Shimano electronic shifting that self-adjusts, can take a hit, and has reasonably priced wear items. SLXi2? Also a wireless dropper post with a 4-position lever that corresponds to different heights. Hydraulic seems good for brakes.

Edit: fuck internal cable routing.  Give me guides for full-length housing.

IMHO it's a smart move to lift the roof of the high-end mtb market another, what is it, $2K?. Great for middle-aged men with too much money and too little time! ;-)

Lol too little time to what? This stuff still needs to be tuned occasionally except now you have to remember to plug it in.

Too little time to ride. Work a lot -> surplus of money but no time to ride -> buy more shit.

No I wouldn't, but not for the usual reasons.

I would buy Di2 XTR with dual front rings instead and enjoy my lightweight cassette and enormous gear range.

After getting the chance to try Di2 on a road bike I'm convinced that the best thing about electric shifting is that it makes 2x drivetrains awesome.

^Di2 XTR/XT is even better. You can run 1 shifter for 2x front chainrings.

Nah. I've seen etap have all kinds of problems, and SRAM's QC is, simply put, shithouse. Needing multiple small, short life batteries is a hassle too. One of the best things with Di2 is the ability to just forget about the battery for months, and then charge quickly whenever you remember. I've already been seeing the new 'ultimate' pike's failing (ingesting air from + to - chamber). That, coupled with the unpredictability of eagle to do it's job is enough for me to avoid it.

I imagine we'll see new Di2 later this year, possibly with a wireless shifter and wired main battery/computer to derailleur.
