I want to run a bash guard on 2020 Sram X0 Eagle cranks...

So, building up a new bike - crank interfaces sure have changed a lot in the last few years! I already have the crankset - it's a 2020 Sram X0 Eagle. It came with a 32T direct mount chainring (boost 3mm offset, which is correct for my bike), but I really want to run a 30T ring with a bash guard. In case it matters, I will more than likely be running an 11spd Sram drivetrain (and yes, apparently Eagle rings are 11spd compatible). Are there any options out there? The Sram site is hard to navigate for small parts like rings and spiders. Does anyone know if Sram or anyone else makes a spider that will fit those cranks, but allows for mounting of standard 104 BCD rings (and bash)? I see the Wolf Tooth has their Camo system that should work for me, but it's pretty spendy when all is said and done. It also restricts me to only using Wolf Tooth rings in the future, which is annoying and entirely predictable. Ideally, I'd like to find a Sram direct mount spider that allows you to mount 104 BCD rings. Also looks like NSB might have something that works, but I think the spider and bashguard combo they sell is non-boost (49mm chainline - I need 52mm).

The WT bash is the only non-ISCG tab bash I am aware of for modern splined cranks. If NSB makes another option that's great. If your chainstays have clearance for you to run a non-Boost ring that will give you a better chainline in the easy gears which I would consider a bonus.

Interesting - never thought of the advantage running a tighter chainline to ease the wear on the bigger cogs. To be completely honest, the vast majority of my pedaling happens up there anyway (climbing). I do have a feeling that my chainstay clearance is very tight though - I'll check tonight.

As far as the WT Camo system goes - I also don't like how the spider and bashguard are one piece. Means I have to replace the whole thing if I really damage the bashguard.

is there a reason you just can get a 30T DM chainring and run it on your X0 cranks? 

Missing ISCG mounts?

With ISCG tabs I’ve been running the Blackspire TrailX guides on multiple bikes now. Simple, quiet and is supporting local manufacturing

I'm not a fan of the taco bash guards. I've found they bend and break easier than ring mounted ones. I also don't like the added stress they put directly into the frame. I'd rather have my chainring or spider break than have a piece of my frame break off.

Mine is the only bike I see around with a crank mounted bash. Unless you want a chainring smaller than 30t, 104BCD is still good.

Sram used to make 104 spiders for its direct mount, are they still around?

Black Spire still make (as far as I know) a bash guard that fits under a thread in bb cup. I have one on my Chameleon which has no ISCG tabs. Pretty skookum. If you’re press fit, your sol.

I have the ISCG tabs, and BB is threaded. I just really want a ring mounted bash.

As far as I can tell, SRAM does not currently make any kind of 4-bolt spider. Looks like they're still providing 4-bolt rings though.

I have a spider from a Truvativ XO DH crankset I bought in 2013. I immediately swapped the spider and 36T ring for a smaller DM ring, and the spider has been sitting in a bin in my basement ever since. You are welcome to have it.
