Moisture wicking boxer briefs sans seams in taint area. Merino is too delicate though I sport it once cold.

decathlon has summer merino boxers (from the hiking section)
I've recently starting using 7 Mesh foundation boxer briefs. Still has a pad, but its very slim and unobtrusive. So far so good on mtb rides up to 3 hrs.
After a bunch of flops, Saxx underwear most comfortable I've found for chamoisless riding. No seam hot spots, durable, no bunching, and they keep you dry.
Day tripper M 5" boxer brief.
Hunt for sales though, cost is a bit higher than some.
I have a few pairs of Craft synthetic boxers I've used for a couple of years for biking, skiing, and running under tights when it's cold. They are holding up great and are a nice option for chamois-free rides (most rides for me aside from gravel these days).
Thanks for the options. I will investigate.
Arcteryx Phase SL, if you can find them. Sadly discontinued last year and the replacement is.. not the same.
I love merino but not for biking undies. Biking undies have different requirements than basically all other clothing items. Friction on the undercarriage is your enemy. Biking undies need to be slippery AF and abrasion resistant. Merino is neither.
One exception is the latest Mons Royale - the have a very very thin liner pad. They're pretty good comfort wise, as long as it's not too hot out. Hate to say it and no mtber likes admitting it, but Lycra is popular in this application for a reason.
Still has a pad, but this is my favourite chamois I've ever used. Padding on the sit bones but minimal in the taint and "support" in the front instead of padding. I find them super comfortable and no chaffing
Have not had a problem with them being too delicate but the Ridge Merino long boxers are a game changer for me. The length helps keep them in place. Cycled between two pairs on a 7 day bikepacking trip with no issues.

Me too. I still have some nice vented Sugoi mesh chamois liners but I never wear them. Saxx for me all day.
+1 for Arcteryx Phase SL boxers, I still have 2 or 3.
I've had good results with Icebreaker Anatomica boxers too. Contrary to a lot of Icebreaker merino products they don't wear fast.
For chamois, those mesh Sugoi RC Pro liners have been my choice for well over a decade. Happy they still make them.
If all else fails, I hear a raw steak works well.
Hmm...I have some saxx. I'll give them a go again but I recall being annoyed by the ball bra system. There should be a cup size choice...for I am a solid DD cup in the balls department.
Joking...slightly joking anyway.
I think something annoyed me about them when I tried but will try again.

I'm not going to try that. For many reasons. But I will dole out that as advice as it's chortle-worthy.

Best can recommend would be essentially tri shorts. Next to no pad and are designed to have as flat a seam as possible.
