How wide is a 142 Maxle spacing?

My Scout is about 145mm between the "dropouts".

It's 142. That's why it's "142" Is your frame tweaked? or do they just have it a bit wide and let the maxle pull it together?

I havent measured mine, but since the axle itself is supposed to be 142mm, I imagine the dropouts themselves would have to be a bit wider or the axle wouldnt fit. Im going to guess having 1mm or so on each side of the axle at the dropout is not unusual.

It really should be pretty close to 142mm. A mm or more off, you would think that does something to the rear triangle alignment especially if there are pivots back there (like the Scout)

Fwiw my new to me '16 Scout is also about 144-145mm. Works for me because I'm using silly Roval 142+ wheels. With the shock detached the suspension cycles smooth with the wheel clamped in and my rear hub is 144mm spacing
