Every time I see this thread resurrected I think some donkey is wanting Smoke and Dart or Velciraptors made with recycled hockey pucks.

The new Contis do look good though. Shame about the tire names though.

Hey now, I’m not looking for a Smoke/Dart combo (you can just get those new) but if you have some original skinwall Ground Controls kicking around I’ll take em - bonus points for Umma Gumma rubber!

While you're looking for a rubber unicorn, find me a Yellow Kirin.

Dang, like the look of the supported side knobs/little block combo. Like a Small Block 8 with some side bite.

Yup, it was a great tyre. Just waiting for the design to come around again.

that tread pattern with a modern big casing (maybe a 2.6 even) would be pretty darn nice.

The 2.3 is the same casing size as a 2.35 Magic Mary. A 2.6 would be enormous.

You mean like this one?

Schwalbe Wicked Will (can be had in 2.6)

Any of you Der Baron/Der Kaiser fans figure out what to do when your current set is done?

Cool tire!

I wonder if this can take the place of the 2.6” Slaughter of my dreams that Spech just won’t make.

La biccicleta has Contis on sale ATM.

But after, yeah, totally clueless what to get after. Big Betty is great rear but for now I still have Barons front on 2 bikes. Magic Marry is ok but doesn't click with my riding as well as Baron.

I do like Griffus quite a bit but no Hutchinson distribution around here as far as I'm aware

Ugh trying not to think about it. The complexity of the new system is a turnoff for me.

I have a Bontrager SE4 thats in good shape and the SE6 assegai clone seems promising. That'd be a decently fast combo for summer.

I'm not sure anything would have felt great yesterday with how wet things were but my poor Conti's were feeling pretty skittish.

I rode Fromme yesterday and found it surprisingly grippy for how wet it was. I was on the Spectral 125 which comes with DHR2 Maxterra front and Dissector Maxterra rear. More a summer tire combo so I was expecting to slip & slide my way down but it was fine even on Executioner.

Yeah I think they're more worn out than I care to admit. :(
