Hooking up a Chariot trailer to a 142x12 hub?

Doing a family vacation next month, and planning to bring the bike for some solo dad time as well as a Chariot for some father-son exploring. My wife has informed me this is a "one-bike" trip, and ideally I'd like to bring my Trek Slash. Unfortunately the Slash's 142x12 rear hub prevents me from using the usual Chariot bike attachment, which only threads onto a standard 10x1 rear.

I saw this: http://www.biketechshop.com/thule-chariot-bike-trailer-alternative-hitch-p-2580.html, but it doesn't look all that durable and looks like it might interfere with the disc brake rotors.

Anyone figured out a work-around here?

I looked at one of those but got scared off by stories of people crushing their chainstays. I would like to see a 142x10 axle with threads on the end that you could bolt the Chariot cup to, but as far as I know it doesn't exist. I take my Surface or Stylus anytime I need to pull the trailer.

Being cheap is OK. Being a clueless sanctimonious condescending douchebag is just Vlad's MO.

I'm yet to try it but I've been tempted to buy a 150mm maxle axle, and slightly drill out the adapter for the trailer and mount it up like usual between the axle and frame.

If this world didn't suck, we would all fall off

no doubt

the amount of bikes on a trip should only be limited by the amount of spots on the bike rack

Your hitch threads on?

I've had no issue with putting the hitch on my 10x135 qr axle. I'd grind it out to fit a 12mm and giver, unless there's something I'm missing here.

The hitch doesn't really thread on. The QR axle passes through the hitch, and my concern with drilling it out is a) it makes it unusable on my other bikes that have standard QRs and b) the added width of the hitch will make it unsafe to screw the 142x12 in.

@TylerDurden, moments after posting the thread I discovered the robertaxle guys. Even swapped some emails with them; totally legit and good folks, and in my neck of the woods. I think that's the route I'll be taking.

How many bags is she going to bring?

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.
