Has anyone made one. What do I need to buy?
Home-made headset remover/installer
For going in
For getting it out, the copper pipe.

yep used the one picture above…and it works like diamonds. super easy.
copper pipe from Canadian tire and some ready rod…..$20 all in….
Blogging - Never before have so many people with so little to say said so much to so few.
I found it hard to find a bolt the right length so ready rod is probably better to accommodate any length of head tube without all the spacers and if you got an old flat XC handlebar kicking around they work great for getting the cups out
An old seat post will work instead of the copper pipe as well.
Why so many washers on the assembly?
as spec'd by the itty bitty head tube committee - check out the picture

Why so many washers on the assembly?
He would have run out of threads on his bolt before the headset was pressed all the way in without all those washers!
My bad, I just assumed he was using all-thread. My thought was that it had something to do with not bending the washers.
those large bolts are never threaded all the way to the head of the bolt thats why you wana use ready rod instead of a bolt cuz if you use an 8" piece of ready rod you can instal any head set with just 2 washers and 2 bolts
these tools look like a convenient way to remove/install bearings too
