If the liner is removable, toss it in the washing machine.
The stench usually gets right in between the shell and styrofoam liner. Completely submerge the helmet in warm water and mild soap and try to get it clean everywhere.
I give it a shot of Febreeze anti-bacterial spray after every ride, and wash the liner often. Sometimes once the stench has dug in, it's there to stay.
dave, ya the liner is not removeable, unfortunately. I will hit it with a long hot wash and febreeze the crap outta it.
Thx
get some of that hand-wash laundry soap that the women use for their 'dainties'. 1/2 cup into HOT water in the utility sink and immerse the whole helmet, along with your armour and stinky jersey. Soak for 1/2 hour, rinse, rinse, rinse.
Done.
Fabreez after every ride.
There will be no stench.

fresh scent lysol. if you have a shitty ride you can still have a good time.
We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

i submerge my helmet in hot water with detergent. works well, tho cuz it floats you have to find a way of keeping it underwater over a decent amount of time
chuck it..

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAhAHHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAH!
Washing it ain't gonna help dude. You just stink that bad.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH!
I ain't ever riding behind you again.
he's not the stinkiest.
and you're not one to talk….wash your armour.
Who the hell is Guss and hell if you don't like the stink ride in front… if you can. BWaaHAHAHAHAAHAHHA
I pulled the liner from my Giro mad max. The styro came out with it! It's only heln in place with a couple of glue gobs. If the liner went in, it comes out.
Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

I am the ultimate biking fiend(aka scott) and I scool your ass every ride. hahahahahahahahahahaahahahahaahahahaha
hahaaaaahhaaa
I scool your ass
I think there is a law against spelling that word wrong :)
As for the stinky helmet thing, I've found febreeze works best. If I wash a piece of armour, it seems to stink really fast after that, yet febreeze gives me a couple of rides.
