I prefer bars with more sweep as the occasional tendinitis that pops up in my pinky fingers doesn't happen as often with more sweep. As for width, I've settled on about 30" for now.
have you tried grips without outer lock-ons?
I tend to ride with the hypothenar muscles right on the outer edge of my grips and used to get alot of pain from those metal locks.. Special-ed grips only have one lock and seem to result in less pain.
