I had one of those Halsons. You had to change elastomers with temperature. Wasn't so bad until the fork leg became unglued during the test of mettle.

Issue with the manitou dorado too and that's certainly not just meant for SoCal CX. Seen any solutions on those?

Don't give a hoot about a Dorado. It's not a fork that I'd be riding around in the for a day. Different market and purpose altogether but still a problem on muddy DH days.

I for one am pretty excited for this. Aesthetically, that's a good looking fork. Innovation, good or bad, is what advances our sport. Inverted forks have been done before but maybe now technology has caught up to sort out issues from previous incarnations.

Way to NOT read the reasoning for my post. If you read the whole thing then you'd realize that drawing a parallel to a 29er is ridiculous.

Take a look back at my post and come back with a method for attaching a fender that will be effective. There's a reason that the Mucky Nutz Fenders are so popular.

But, but.. that's a rigid fork. Not quite gonna work with an inverted telescoping unit.

Maybe more beer is needed to solve this problem of a fender that keeps mud from flying in the eyes of all the XC riders that are going to be buying a purpose built fork that most likely will only be spec'ed on bikes north of $8k. Have you priced an XC Sworks lately? You tend to leave it in the shed and opt for one of your other bikes for those muddy days that you'll need a fender.

Yeah, that makes sense. A fender isn't the end of the world, but a nice to have feature.

You seriously think they're only coming on S-Works bikes!? I hate to be the bearer of bad news but they will be available aftermarket and on many OE bikes. Yes, they'll be expensive but that doesn't mean that they won't be used on muddy or rainy days.

You morans actually bickering about fender options?

Like every moto with an inverted fork just stuff the fender tight up under the crown and you'll do just fine. A simple folder piece of flat plastic might not work, but I am sure a touch of thermo molding will do the trick. Sram will be able to charge extra for it.
