Was running some ODI Elite Pros lately, (same as Flows but with palm padding on front).
Along with DMR Deathgrips these are generally reviewed as best grips on the market. I'd concur with a double shaka rating for both 🤙🤙.
One thing with the ODI is you effectively lose 10mm bar width on each end due to the flange. Palm padding doesn't perceptively affect grip thickness. Compound is soft, though harder than DMR race compound.
Both great, but for my 780 bars I prefer the DMR's. Also, maybe better for carbon bars since the the DMR's are hammered on and stay in place with less reliance on the clamp. Just finished my 2nd pair of DMR's. Next pair for longevity I'm going for soft compound rather than race.
Anyone running push-on grips?
After Andrew comparing them to Maximus gently caressing wheat for 25 seconds I feel I need this.
Wonder if clear spray paint could harm the finish on carbon bars when the worn grips are eventually ripped off.

Not sure which question this is in answer to. Maybe both?
Ive been using silicone grips for about 5Â years. I've tried lock ons a few times since and after one ride take them off as my hands/wrists hurt.
Been using ESI racer edge mostly. Ripped a couple but only at the end of their lifespan. I crash about a half dozen times a year and rip a grip maybe 1x per year.Â
As for spinning, I average about 5 rides a week Year round which means I ride in a lot of rain. The only time the esi grips start to twist is when they should be replaced (cushion is all gone anyways). I don't use any solvents, just compressed air.
If you crash every ride or more, silicone may not be for you but otherwise - it's the maximus wheat thing.
Renthal Kevlar slip ons since Ultra Tacky are always out of stock worldwide. I use rubbing alcohol to apply the grips. Then wire them on.
So spray paint is a no-no on carbon then. Pity. I've used it in the past, so simple.
ESI grips are an expensive habit though if you're crash prone. Ran them years ago, much nice.
Maybe I'll try some Renthals super tacky. Ride bare handed half the time though, don't really want gooey hands.

I found alcohol is ok cuz the grip slides on and the alcohol evaporates but i put some mushroom grips on with hair spray and when they got wet the grips would still slip n slide even 20 years later
