I have an old (well, by industry standards) 26er Transition Trans Am with a fork long over due for servicing. Since I don't ride this bike on anything other than smooth gravel trails now and for short commutes, I've been thinking about ditching the almost 10 year old TALAS 36 (Really feels like poo cuz I'm sure it's totally got no oil in it…lol 20 hr service interval) on it for a rigid fork. Single speeding the bike is also tempting me if I do this. I guess just don't want to give this bike up for some reason, but I don't want to be arsed with overhauling the Fox anymore and I'm sketched out riding one so old anyways!
How practical is this? Looks like some people on the inter tubes have rigid 29er Trans Ams. Any shops around here carry much in the way of rigid forks? I don't really know where to start looking. :fruit:
