Does anyone know about hooking up a front derailleur on an '02 VPS 4by4? I.e., if it can be done? What type is needed? How do I get around not having any cable welds?

Thanks
MH

I have a front derailleur on my 02 4by4
I was able to find a steel cable end cap that I fastened to the last cable guide for front derailleur cable stop. I used a zap strap and thin steel wire to fasten it to the guide. I also filed a notch in the cable end cap so the zap strap and the wire would not slip. You also need the plastic cable guide (bike shops have them) that screws into the hole on the underside of the BB shell. With that you are set. All you need is a bottom pull front derailleur (don't remember the size; a bike shop should be able to tell you) .

Hope that is not too confusing

Thanks all! I figured I had to Frankenstein something, but thought a few had ventured here before me. As Eric B. used to say "It's back to the lab"
