Im looking at buying a new x2 air shock and looking at the spec for my bike it requires one end to have 22.2mm x 8mm hardware and 40mm x 8mm at the other end. I seem to be able to find the 22.2 ones online but cant see 40 x 8 anywhere. Is there anything to do to solve this? Its replacing a cane creek double barrel on a banshee darkside it it matters.

I used the 21.84 and 39.88mm ones for my Darkside, the next sizes up were far too snug

Fox part number  803-03-165 (21.84) and  803-03-189 (39.88) they have 8mm bolt hole, they're aluminum and include 2 nylon DUs

Ok thats what i was wondering. There is a 22.2 one btw.

Ive never actually installed a new shock so do you basically just get the shock with bare eyelets and then these are like spacers you just put in with the bolts? Like i dont need any fancy tools do I. Ive seen some fore du bushings but im just not sure of the process

This link will show you. The X2s come with hardware when you buy them new, but I can't recall what width it is. EDIT - Sorry looks like they just come with nylon bushings, not full hardware.

5 pc installation

The 22.2 hardware was too tight for my bike. Probably just a tolerance issue between the frame/hardware. If you're buddies with a shop it wouldn't hurt to swing in and see if they can help you
