$6000? I just looked at the price on the Giant website and saw $4000USD. That spec is terrible for that price.
Fox 34 woes
Trance SX - $3500 CDN
Trance Advance SX - $5700 CDN

ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.
Avalanche cartridge or an upgrade to 2014 Fox Fit are the only options I could find.
A friend did the Avy cart on the same fork and loves it. If you can't or don't want to sell it that's a decent option.
FYI, I purchased the bike for $2600, lightly used with a 150mm KS Lev installed. 2014 Trance SX. I expected to make some suspension related upgrades and for the price I paid, it's a pretty good deal. Not sure where the $4000 and $6000 numbers came from as it Retails for around $3500 new
I'm thinking an Avi cart or Push in my 34 29er

Giant USA Website has them at $4050 for the Trance SX and $6400 for the Advance SX

Id agree that the Avalanche cartridge might be your best bet if it works for that model. Chances of selling that fork are pretty slim….
Wait till the crown starts creaking. You'll really wish you had a Pike then:)

Well considering I live in Canada, and buy bikes in Canada, I'm more conserved with that price.

I also have the SX, already changed out the fork, picked up a 34 Talas Factor that was take-off from a SX Advanced. Much better than the Evo model. Still fine tuning, but the two short rides on the fork, it is obviously more controlled in the feel.
I found the Evo okay on a single hit but any repetitive hits make the fork feel lousy. The stock Float CTD out back is not any better. I pretty much run on trail mode with a little less air pressure as this seems to get the most out of the bad shock.
Two options right now are in play for a rear shock, Float X is one, the preferred is the DBInline, which should be out in late July or August.
For me, like the OP, I came from another bike that had really nicely setup suspension components. I had a 2012 Talas 36 RC2 that was done up by SW. On the back I had a X-Fusion Vector Air HLR, which was fantastic.
As a comparison, I only had two rides on a demo bike with a DB Air CS and I would put the Vector on par with it. I tried the Vector on the Trance SX, but the air can hits the frame at 3/4 compression, so that is out.

UM, my miztake I been looking at the SX on the 'puter screen for so long everthing I read has "SX" in front of it. :S

+ PST and/or GST
A Fox 34 Talas CTD Evolution and a Float CTD are what it came with.
These units on the Advanced SX are Kashima coated so, totally different, amiright?
Freedom of contract. We sell them guns that kill them; they sell us drugs that kill us.
I have the avy cart in my rs lyrik coil and it is awesome. Nothing like all metal with no plasticky for quality

Should be no pst on bikes. ! As of 2013 no pst required on bikes and a slew of bike components like forks and wheels..

I had suspension worx put a volume reducer in my rp23 . There are three .2, .4, and . 6
I have .4 in mine it gives better mid stroke support with a nice ramp up at end of stroke. Also let's me run 15 psi lower at same sag with better small bump sensitivity..
As for fork maybe turn it into a float 2014 as talas has a lot of stiction…

Anybody try the Vorsprung TLA? Saw the NSMB article, but just looking for other opinions.
I've got a 2013 factory Float 150 FIT CTD on my Stumpy Evo that needs servicing anyway. I'm wondering if it's worth dumping more money into it, upgrade to a Pike seems kinda pricey.
