In a hard shell rental case out of Bellingham to Mpls. Alaska/Delta guy charged me $40. Flying out of Mpls. to Bellingham Delta/Alaska they charged me $150. Uh huh.

Think they charged me $50 each way last time using case below....bike was just fine.

Double and triple check the airline policy as any US based airlines (or any airline for that matter...) charge f'ing ridiculous fees. They can cost as much as the flight sometimes - it's insane.

Were they booked together? If they check your luggage through the whole way then you should only need to pay once each way.

what about partial shipping and taking the rest on the plane?

or maybe just shipping with bikeflights?

Just because there are connections doesn't mean you pay multiple fees. And the price of being able to ride ?? Priceless.

I made this decision last November for the first time, and after far too long on the phone they confirmed $600 in fees for bringing my bike, so I rented one and it's really nice to not worry about it and pack really light, I'll always lean that way if I travel to the ride again.

I'm not sure what you intend to ride down there, but do confirm the rental place allows you to ride wherever you intend to go.

I rented for a week in Salt Lake City, and Go Ride was not comfortable with any of their nice enduro bikes going in the bike parks.

I ended up on a very used, XC'd out Giant Trance and still had a ton of fun, but I would have liked to have been on something with a short stem, wide bars, and good brakes.

I just sent a bike to the states with bikeflights. Good service but it was 300usd one way - Xl bike 40 lbs with the box etc.

Also, why you going to the US during covid? Or are you already in the US? Will your health i surance cover a covid admission to hospital?

personally I won't bother traveling to the states until trump is not in charge, I have been vaccinated for covid and I may also wait for better gun laws....

Heralbills doesn't have a calendar at their bike shipping headquarters in Kazakhstan.

Also, I hope JBV realized AZ sucks and went somewhere else.
