Anyone have any recommendations for the most "minimal" shoe? least padding, lightest weight, thinnest sole, etc...

Of the ones I have tried it would be the 5.10 Trailcross LT. Basically a trail runner with a bike friendly sole.

Probably going for the RC Vice, as I want something a little less techy. Most reviews suggest they're on the minimal side.

Oddly I've been riding in Nike Flyknits Free for the past month (out of necessity) and the pedal grip and feel is great. That's why I'm hunting for something minimal, but actually bike appropriate.

after blowing a knee I didnt wana ride a mtn bike clipless so I switched to cheap flats & resurrected an old pair of 661 axo duallies from long ago, the opposite of minimalist an awesume shoe with lots of protection, I don't really get why anyone would want a minimalist shoe for something that is so hard on feet and shoes

I want to feel the pedal and not wear riot gear to ride my bike. Reality is I don't go that huge and even when pushing really hard I'm riding well below my 25 years of riding experience. all I want is some toe box protection.

that said the 2FO are catching my eye a little bit.

may have to check some out in person.

Could you please clarify for me whether hellions are stiffer than freerider pros (as opposed to regular freeriders). Very hellion curious.  Thanks!

I have both. I'd say they are close in stiffness, but the Hellions are the stiffer of the two shoes.

I went with Spec 2FO 2.0. I'll post back with brief opinion when I have one.

Spec 2FO’s are for not-wide-foot, right?
