Elixir CR vs. new Saint

I unfortunately have only tried the Stroker Ace. The levers between the Trail and the Ace are very similar, with the only difference being a longer lever blade on the Stroker Ace (from what I remember). A common complaint regarding the Stroker lever is that it's uncomfortable for some when the contact point of the lever is super close to the bar, it feels like the lever is moving away from your hand, and it's a function of the lever blade pivot placement.

It was a combination of that and the levers being extremely thin. Overall the brakes just felt terrible in my hands, and no amount of adjusting fixed it. Ah well.

Why not look at some SLX or XT brakes? Much cheaper than Saint [HTML_REMOVED] more than enough power from my experience, especially with 200mm rotors. Pads are cheaper to replace too.

Just a heads up that the MSRP for 2010 for Saint pads for the 810 brakes is $39 for the D-02s (metal sintered) and $28.70 for the new resin pads.

The resin pads have a mellower feel but still offer significant braking power. The wear rate of the resin is faster as expected and may not be appropriate for some riding conditions.

The past high price has lead to people using non Shimano pads with the 810 brakes. We would suggest that whenever possible you use the OE pads. Be aware that every pad you use transfers material from the pad to the rotor surface. This can have an impact on the performance of your brakes and have a significant affect on brake noise.

Vegas Baby,

Yes these pads are for the 2009 M-810 (four piston) brakes.

With unmatched power, superior cooling and now the adjustability of the Tech lever, the V2 is surely - King of brakes.

dont know which brake has more power since for a bike they both have more then what you need but i find the hope to have far more usable power. the amount of lever throw to pad engagement are easily adjustable just in case your finger modulators dont work so well and you need some help from your brake.
