YT site only list bb drop. What the bb height on one of those?

I thought it depends on tires+rims, that's why some like bb drop instead of bb height

on the new Norco Sight 29er the BB is lower than the 27.5" version , I would have figured it would be a bit higher .

Unless they recommend less sag 'cause less travel?

I think also reach is longer on the 29er. I don't really understand. But I guess they've done that intentionally. Maybe differentiate a playful 27.5 version from a more stable and muted 29er and let customers pick what they want?

I was old be someone who spent some time testing the 29" model that the ride was very similar to the 27.5" model , it cornered and handled the same .

Bingo, this is it. Lower travel = less sag so you can design in a lower unsagged BB height. Sagged BB height will be very close, if not the same.

This was done intentionally to give the 29er the same handling characteristics as the 650B version. The contact points are the same between each wheel size (ie. position of your hands, feet, etc) so that the differences between the two platforms come down to wheelsize instead of fit. The reason there is no XS or S version of the 29er Sight is because they'd have to compromise the fit and feel of the bike to cram in the larger wheels.

It's not published in Norco's geo charts, but newer models that are offered in multiple wheel sizes (eg. Optic, Sight, Charger) are designed around something called reach-plus and stack-plus. The plus refers to the fact that they include the stem length in these calculations.

The Sight 29er has a longer top tube, shorter stem and 0.5 degree steeper head angle than the 650B version. This keeps the handling characteristics as close as possible between the two versions without affecting the fit. It's misleading because they don't publish the reach-plus/stack-plus numbers, but the fit/body position is identical between the two bikes. That is a medium Sight 650B will fit exactly the same as a medium Sight 29er.

interesting that the suspension was pro tuned , first write up I have seen where the tester mentioned doing that to a test bike .

I see you touting you're a custom bike designer on PB, would we know any of your wonderful creations? Why don't you try said bikes with grossly slack STAs you're talking about prior to making assumptions about their abilities… can't get causality from correlation now can we? (Again rhetorical question…. all my questions were other than your "designs")
