Dropped a hope pawl the other day. Luckily found it quick though it was dirty.

Funny thing is I found a ball bearing for an early 90s Dura-ace hub I lost 3 years ago right where the pawl ended up. Auspicious.

Sounds like a low spot in the floor to me.

Or more likely coincidence.

Sound like your shop area is infected with loose parts gremlins. They awake in the middle of the night to randomly move parts around. Sometimes you get lucky and come across one while you're looking for some other typically unrelated object. I once found a missing shoe cleat while scouring the floor for my sanity. Happy to get the cleat back, but honestly I'd rather have the sanity.

I found the Schrader adaptor for my compressed air that I lost three weeks ago when looking for my hope pawl.

Actually the bigger story is I had moved a tool chest a couple weeks back to give to my dad. I’m guessing it just got lodged in behind.

Was swapping new pads on the Guides. Went to fit the clip after installing the pad retaining bolt. I had dropped it on the lawn, grabbed a magnet stick. And managed to find it. Guess that,s what you get for working on the lawn.

One of the special bolts that holds the fender on my dvo diamond is on my shop floor somewhere.

I bet that years from now, the day after I sell the fork or bike it's on, it will appear.

I've lost the same clip. Never found it and that was inside working on a rubber mat.
