Lately I've been dealing with bike-components with great success. When I picked Canada didn't notice any restrictions.

Did my first bike-components.de purchase. Very fast.

They twisted my wire bead tires to fit in a smaller box. Not a fan of that.

Customs charged me gst AND pst and recorded them as bike parts. Jerks.

At least the box came sealed?  When I first started using them a few years back, boxes came barely holding together, with tires hanging out the side.  I think things have improved since then.  Claim that PST back on the back of the customs form.

Very sealed. Bike-discount sent me a couple that was held together with hopes, dreams and 70% of its original contents... think zee Germans have learnt their lessons.

bike24.de twisted my wire bead Minions as well, don't think that helped with the misery of mounting them. Crappy thin cardboard that took a beating/holes on the way over but luckily no parts fell out.

My blitzkrieg of bicycle parts from Germany were held up by CBSA in Quebexico for a few days.  Going to feel the pain tomorrow.

It was actually mostly XTR/XT parts and a Saint brake set.  CBSA charged myself the appropriate 5% GST on bicycle parts.  Be nice if they did that last time as well.

Have a hub wasting it's life away in Missasauga now

Anyone bought a custom built wheel off CRC lately?  Last time I bought one was 3-4 months ago, I accessed their custom wheel builder by typing "custom wheel" in the search bar.  But now nothing comes up???

Alternately, anywhere else to get a cheap+solid rear wheel?  At the beginning of the season I used the CRC custom builder to pick up a fully built Stan's Flow on Zee rear hub for $210 - hoping to get something similar.  Pretty damn good deal, even if it did only last 2/3rds of a season.

CRC order for some pads, cables & tools placed at noon on September 4.  Box in my hands at 10:30 this morning, so 9 days.  Canada Post handling fee + GST, which was less than what I saved on just one of the tools vs. buying an overpriced Park version locally.

Fee free upon pick-up today as well as an engine part for my vehicle.  Got lucky this week.

Does CRC allow you to purchase a custom wheel that they assemble for you and then ship you the fully built wheel? I swear I saw some sort of "custom wheel builder" tool on their site before but can't seem to find it anymore.

And if CRC doesn't have it - do any other of those online shops do it?
