Just saw this auction ad:

http://www.ableauctions.ca/flyer/?EventID=2E8B995C-CB13-C4C7-57582869C5BAF98C

No wonder they went out of business. Who holds onto that much inventory from 1995? It would be cool to go and check it out, but not worth the drive out to Langley…

I live right by there so I'll go check it out today on my way home from work.

my same thoughts , looks like a pawnshop selection not a bike shop , where are the mechanics tools and work stands ?? did they do service work at all ?

If you go through all the lot numbers, there are tools and stands there. About 4 or 5 stands and boxes and boxes of tools. It all just seems to be randomly thrown into boxes, and when the box is full they put a lot number on it for the auction.

The video mentions that there are the contents of two shops up for auction, so presumably all the old stuff is from the other store. Either way, expect to see a whole load of bikes and parts up on Craigslist on Saturday night! Loads or repair stands and some tool boxes at least in the vid too.

Not as bad as the Police auctions though. I've lost count of the times that someone has paid way over the odds at a Police auction only to be told that their bike is fucked beyond repair. Not sure who the thieves are in these situations. Buyer beware…..

Im not sure how one could hope to make an internet bid on any of that stuff. It would be more like Storage Wars. You can see there are 'bike parts' in a box, but not any detail at all. Roll the dice and see what you get I guess?

Is there anything in particular anyone on here needs? I could do a look and give you internet bidders the heads up on what lot# has what part etc

This is right down the street from my work so i'm going there at lunch. I'll hopefully be able to identify any shop or mechanics tools.

Your 0.02 opinion is worthless. Since Feb 2013, pennies have to be rounded down. Sorry.

I hadn't noticed that one can bid online. I'm such a luddite…. Anyone know what time the place closes after the auction? I might throw in a couple of lowball bids on stuff that possibly no-one else will be interested in but I work Sunday so would have to collect Saturday PM. I could just pick up the phone…..:D

Arrr I've just had an email:

"
Payment is on due in full on Auction Day, we will be open until 4:30pm."
