DIY Bearing Removal Kit

I'm having a mental block on this - call it analysis paralysis. Show me (or please provide a simple parts list) of a DIY bearing kit for pivot bearings.

Option #1 - two sockets on either end of the part and press together with a C-clamp and close one into the cavity of the other. Press back in using the old bearing to match

Option #2 - threaded rod (or carriage bolt) with a handful of washers....here's where I struggle. I'm doing 6801 bearings, so 21mm diameter (5mm inner). Do I use a 1/4 or 5/16 bolt with a 3/4" or 5/8" washer set? or does it matter? Do I get bigger ones to go on top of sockets? I'm feeling like I could sort this out at Rona for <$10...but I keep spinning on what to get.

Option #3 - stop being stupid and just buy the kit: https://www.bocabearings.com/products/bike-but-001-bearing-installer-18438

I'm very happy I bought a bearing press early on.

I'm sad I bought the RRP one, and bought the inserts piece-meal.

I wish I bought a bigger one with every set imaginable.

For the price I'd say it's worth a shot...

Yeah that's one of those things that could be a hidden Ali gem. Please do let us know how it is because I've wanted a press for a while.

Just get the kit from bearing pro tools and if you want, a nicer threaded rod from wheel mf which is much cheaper than a full kit

I pulled and replaced all the bearings in my Process at every 6 months and it's trivial with this setup. I mean, the bearings themselves became the expensive thing.

Anyone get one of these yet? Think I'll take a punt on it.

Saw my friends ali express box+kit seem like good quality. He hadn't put it to use yet at that point but I think it's going to be good.
