DHR2 vs Dissector? 3C vs DC?

I’m thinking of trying out a different tire set-up on my trail/all-mountain/enduro bike, which is a current Bronson CC V3 with a top spec build, running Reserve 30 rims.

I’m currently running a 2.5 DHF Max Terra EXO front and a 2.3 Aggressor DC EXO. These have (seemed to) serve me well on my local NY/NJ/CT terrain which consists of hard, dust over hard, some loose, bunch of chunky rock mixed in a bit with a decent amount of steep. Typical New England terrain. There are also a handful of bike parks days mixed in there.

My current tires keep the bike feeling lively and mostly just damn fine, but that vague spot in the DHF may be throwing me off...or my cornering technique just sucks. I feel like a different front tire may be much more confidence inspiring. The Aggressor seems to roll damn well, but I feel like I’d appreciate a touch more volume out back, a 2.4 Aggressor would be perfect if they made it. 2.5 Agressor seems like more than I’d like to run back there.

I’m pretty sure I’ve settled on a DHR2 (Max Terra or Max Grip) up front. It’ll save some weight and keep the bike feeling lively. 

For the back I’m still stuck between a DHR2 or Dissector. 

Will a DHR2 really be noticeably slower out back and draggy while pedaling vs a Dissector? 

Should I go with Max Terra or Dual compound rear? Will the Max Terra rear add a ton of rolling resistance? 

Could DHR2 3C front and DHR2 DC still roll well, but cover all bases as far as grip? 

Wear rate is not an issue as I do not mind tire replacement costs

Take the plunge- its not like your bike will stop working because of your tires......and if you really dont like it go and sell it on Pinkbike and get a different one

If you want all out grip DHRII 2.4wt MaxxGrip DD. If you want a little more drifty tire get the Director. Btw, all of this info has been beat to death in the million tire threads in this form. Try a search first for such generic questions

I duno if its any different but when i bought a Maxxis Minion 2.35 rear tire from CRC  I got a page with 12 tires,  all slightly different spec so it took me > an hr to decipher it all and in the end I did get the right tire BUT I could see how it would be VERY easy to buy the rong tire

but thats not the same as not knowing which tire to buy

I been patiently scoping for the deal all season cuz the problem with maxxis is the price not the performance

So I got 2 new Maxxis and I will let someone else test tires to tell us  they are not as good as Maxxis

And dealing with MEC instead of Chain reaction is as good as it  gets

$72CAD, but not currently in stock. Other caveat is shipping is 20EUR per order so it makes sense to grab a bunch of stuff (or go in with a friend). They ship DHL which hands off to Canada Post. I've found it's 50/50 on whether Canada Post charges GST and the $10 brokerage fee or not. I order one set of new tires per year for my trail bike that go on once it starts raining in the fall, and will usually grab a bunch of other random stuff (discounted jerseys, lube, cleaning products whatever) that are also way cheaper than can be found locally.

said mec sale was over before i had a chance to order. perhaps a mistake on their end? seems odd to deeply discount such a hot commodity. anyways. TBS is my regular source for maxxis; $105-109 / pc, free ship to my doorstep within a couple days. that said, may be time to do a bike24 schwalbe haul again; the maxxgrip rubber disappears painfully quickly.
