DH bike color change?

I've been riding a flat black bike for so long now that I'd like to change up the color. Since I'll be tearing down my 2010 Podium this winter for new bearings I figured it would be a good time to get her painted/powder coated at the same time.

Does anyone have any recommendations for paint/coat?

I spoke with my local p/c shop, but they really only do white, black, or safety blue, none of which appeal to me. Honestly, I'd like to go wild like the new Scott orange, or Cove lime green. Hell, I'd even take a bright purple or baby blue.

Are there any shops who will broker this deal for me?
I'd hate to have to mess with my own stripping and plugging, especially with such tight tolerances so I'd like to deal with someone who does this on the regular.

Thanks!

If it's flat black, is it an ano finish? There may be some issue with painting over that.

Why not email Knolly and ask who they've had do frames for them locally?

They've likely had proto's and pre-production frames done locally.

There is/was a guy in Squamish that does all kinds of powder coating and sand blasting. Not sure if he is still around, he used to be on the board here, too.

That guy sold the business to someone in the interior. I emailed him for a quote a couple of weeks ago and was told it got sold off over a year ago

A lot of the Knollys, particularly the first-gen of Podiums, were done by Toxik. I strongly reccommend them, they are the only shop I know multiple clients of, all of whom are extremely happy with the work done and their bikes are all beautifully done. Whatever paint they use, lasts for ever aswell.

That's good info.
I'll give toxic a shout and see what they say. Looks like it could get pricey 'round here.

I was going to give you a shout about that Semaj, thanks for posting.
I couldn't remember where you took yours but was super stoked on the paint job. It was a sweet bike!

DNZ does the prepping and reassembly, but Baker powdercoating did the colour. They are the same guys who coat the OEM Transition frames.

This is such a cool idea.
I'd like to get my santa cruz driver8 redone! I have full saint kit and white fox40s.
I want something sick like a bright and flashy color. Something that will go with the black/ gold parts and white stuff too. What you guys think?
Roughly how much does a pro pc cost?
