HeyZeus: they will want pics of the tumour as well as the bar code on the inside of the tire so they can see manufacture date etc. so you might be out of luck.

I was indeed out of luck, more to know for next time.
That being said, having a tire out back that actually contributes to braking again has been awesome, and except for pavement I really don't notice too much of a rolling penalty. For reference I have put a regular DHF our back to replace the tumour'd minon SS.
