Enjoy!

…snip…

I REALLY like this. I kinda want to do a 1x10 or 2x10 drivetrain with top-mount Dura-Ace thumbies. Not 'cause they're better but just 'cause.

andrew… details!

how/where did it break? did you fix it yourself or get mt to rebuild the frame - and either way what did that entail?

Well… I did something silly and it snapped through the top and downtube. Seven years of tomfoolery doesn't seem so bad, but I couldn't let it go. I have a TIG welder so I bought some tubes from Nova and Paragon and bodged together a new front triangle. To be honest it's a mess, but it only cost $60 and a bit of my time and it's held up for two rides and counting.

Had emailed MT a few weeks ago about the Stylyus and he wasn't doing any repair work at this time.

The shop is sold out of helmet light mounts so my buddy scours the kitchen drawer and comes up with this gem. The wine cork makes a perfect dummy handlebar, with a couple birthday candles wedged for stability. The results are flawless.

Amazing. What's the beam pattern for that light like?

Nice! And if the light cacks, you have candles to light the way. You do carry a lighter right?

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

… Frame is a SC 5010, but running a 150mm Pike 26" with 26" wheels. Feels money! BB is ~11-15mm lower than the TRc frame it replaced…

this is weird but interesting. i've encountered 29ers in the past that i thought might benefit from 27.5 wheels to lower the bb, while giving more clearance for big volume tires, and slackening the HA with a slightly taller fork. tallboy, for example.

some 29 frames might even fit 27.5+ (2.8-3" tires on 40mm rims) wheels/tires while keeping more or less their same geometry. i could see the "plus" size standard becoming far more popular than fat bikes around here. after riding a fat bike, i suspect there's a happy medium that might work well for whistler/pemby hardtailers.
