how much did that set you back?
Not that much considering. $180 for the shock including full rebuild at The Broken Bike, $100 for the coil and a good price from the NSB guys (less than $100)

Yeah it does. It's very close but there is clearance there

It's a Manitou 500lb. I'll check it out over the next few rides but there were no noises or wear indicating that it was rubbing
Where was yours hitting?
If you wanted to, could you still fit a watterbottle+holder in it now without the shock hitting it at full compression?

Mine was hitting where the spring was surrounded by the frame,I was wrapping the spring in an old tube for a while.I was running a nuke proof spring

I did the same thing to my enduro with a DHX 5 and Ti spring. The only other thing I had to do was shorten the stroke by 1/8" so it the seat stay wouldn't hit the seat tube. Once I did that the setup was dialed!

I'm not too sure. Said it wasn't too difficult though. Hardest part was clamping it down to machine it I guess

Yeah I used an old plastic cutting board that happened to be 5/16" thick. Drill bit and hole saw later, I had a spacer to reduce the stroke pretty close to the 2.125" stock length
i'm intrigued. i'll talk to chris to see if same could be done for a 2012 stumpy.
