Crud on my rear shock

Lookin for suggestions to keep this friggin crud off my RS Pearl. The floodgate and rebound controls are getting plugged and even after a good post ride spraydown the crap just gets into everything.

I've thought about flipping the shock around but then the crud will be on the stantion and I'm not sure the dust wiper can keep this much gunk outta the inside of the shock.

Any small, cool and "inexpensive" fender options, or input on flipping the shock around?

Heres a pic after a 2 hr ride today:

just make a custom fender … use a 2 liter pop bottle …. make it go through the rear arch zap strap it into place … might look a bit tacky but it should work …. could always heat mold the plastic to fit just right ( hair dryer ) then mold it to fit and 2 way tape it …. or velcro tape it …. let me know how it goes John

You can probably also rig up an old cut up tube and place it over the shock.

Yeah, it seems like the inner tube trick used for front fenders could also work on rear shocks.

How about this? http://www.crudcatcher.com/crudcatcher.html

Bike Brewery in Abbotsford sells them, and they are pretty cheap.

I think c_r's idea of the pop bottle or the inner tube idea.

One of those lizard skin shock sleeves would probably work quite nicely :)

Just remember that if crud gets underneath it will then act like sandpaper and
sand away the coating on the shocks shaft. Also, it will hold moisture at the metal
and not allow it to dry so, keep it clean and dry it out.

Yeh Yeh  ,… I got your message about a ride today at about 1pm today (when I finally dragged my ass out of bed). Lotta Stellas last night so SFU was all I could muster. Good ride though, the trails were muddy but remarkably sticky. Hardpack snow up the TC and Joes though.
I hope Burke was good..

Thanks that looked cool except for front end only. I'm gonna email them and see if they a rear fender option, just want something a little more flashy then the pop bottle option on this rig.
