creak

Only when power to the left crank arm.

Swapped out pedals and saddle no change. Checked bb cups, seat post clamp, cr lock ring.

Greased pivot that was culprit last time but don't think it's pivot/bearing issue 'cause I can bounce up and down while coasting and no creak.

Can interface between left (RF) crank arm and spindle get skanky? Reverb (?) 'cause that got rebuild recently.

A mechanic at another store and I and another guy at my  shop spent a bunch of time on a bike for a clicking noise, it  turned  out to be a SLIGHTLY loose rear quick release  ...  so IME it could be ANYTHING

something I learned after a lot of phucking around with a noisy seatpost on the Yeti is that you MUST use carbon paste on a carbon frame

I heard carbon paste is also good for any thing that creaks

I get the odd click sound from my non-drive side RF turbine crankset.  Usually means for me that the bolt on that side is not as spec.  Clean, regrease and torque and it goes quiet again.

Don't let the spindle come too loose on those cranks. I ruined a set of Turbines by not keeping those stupid 16 mm hex bolts tight, which fasten the spindle. The interface ovalized.

I always thought that 16mm bolt was only there to help extract the crank...?

Are we talking about the same cranks?

I can coax Reverb for and aft at full ext.

We have the same cranks.  The first time I had the noise I thought it was the BB.  Dave at bicycle hub discovered it was the left side bolt.

sometimes you can fix that kind of thing with a  loctite sleeve and bearing retaining product

it is loctite  green but there are 2 kinds of green one that seeps into already fastened threads and one that will hold bearings and sleeves and requirs heat to undo

a train mechanic told me they used it on Locomotives and so I used some to fix  squeaking RF  cranks on a square taper back in the day

There's no "bolt" on the left crank arm, just a giant size hex. Is that what you mean?

Mine starts creaking every week or two now.

Using the right sized bolt in the link above I take it apart, clean, lightly lube and I’m golden for a bit.

Yup

So after tearing down, cleaning and lubing the entire lower end of the bike the creak only went away after liberally greasing the seatpost and tightening the clamp slightly. lulz........

Glad that you seem to have it figuered out because that’s annoying. 

I hate raceface cranks. I have a set on my Endorphin and 9/10 when there’s something wrong with the bike, it’s their fault. Boooooooo Raceface

Yes, I was becoming suicidal. 

Can't fault my RF cranks though, other than the silly 16mm hex (which I solved a la ReductoMans advice. Thanks dude, I found one @ HmDpt).
