fillet brazed goodness for the price of a burrito. i was just back from south africa and trying to de-materialize, or i would have snapped it up… not sure what i would have done with it, though

the state of bike vancouver bike geekdom wasn't nearly as advanced then as it is today: the ten speed and fixed gear booms were in their infancy; even among dedicated cyclists, those interested in older mountain bikes were viewed with pity and scorn

my powers of prognostication were similarly unformed :(

not exactly vintage but this is pretty cool

The Marinoni 40th Anniversary SL is a lugged tubular Columbus SL frame with a classic look and geometry. The frame is offered stock with a BSA Italian bottom bracket and a choice of either threaded or threadless steel fork. Options of chromed finish give it a nice retro look.

Sweet! Reminiscent of my '81 gold and patina edition. Thing handled amazingly and rode so smooth.

Drool

Thanks for reminding of that era. My dad has a classic 1985 Guercotti in his basement he never uses. Frames from that era as they say…just have that feel. Would like to think he will pass it on to me and I can give it a good home.

Vintage steel put to use.

i picked this up off craigslist last fall for $40

added

  • my old brooks saddle;
  • a little six-pack rack;
  • some classic esge fenders;
  • oury grips; and
  • a bullmoose bar, which is actually descently wide

angles are too slack to ride any distance but its a very comfortable around-town cruiser and dogwalker. and lots of fun today ripping around the delta watershed with my son

1995 Brodie Sovereign that I just picked up for my wife:

Believe it or not, the Syncros stem is actually more subtle than the one that I took off! Hopefully I can track down a nice old school short stem, and then probably a silver riser bar.

Thanks. I paid $300 which seemed like a good deal as the frame is in great condition and the Mag21 fork has the Brodie brace, plus the bike has a few other nice bits.

Crazy! I wouldn't sell my Climbmax for five times that much. Great steel, I mean great steal! That's love man.
