it's a bit stupefying that it took a quarter century for the dropper concept to finally be implemented effectively.

And I would question "implemented effectively". Most of them still suck for reliability.

I just might buy a new high end bike, not ride it at all, and then in 20 years take a picture of it and post it in this thread. Just to impress.
:shhh:

Wrong. Always.

I know that this is a pretty small sample size but my Gravity Dropper doesn't need much more attention than anything else on my bike and I am not small nor kind.

Really? I'm going three seasons on my LEV. The only work I've done on it were two minor cable adjustments.

Really… The Lev I had sucked dog bollocks. I am sure I am not the only one. But some day some company will nail it.

I hear the same thing about Reverbs. Different batches from different companies at different times - hopefully you get a good one!

I wanted to post these pics in the 2015 DH sled thread, since these are new (to us) steeds for 2015 but thought maybe they would be more appreciated here since the ultra high BBs [HTML_REMOVED] super steep head angles would cause much hand wringing [HTML_REMOVED] possible melt downs in a "new" bike thread. My buddy has always loved the Super 8 since he rode one in 2001. He finally got his hands on one in 2011. The Scuba Yellow is his third frame [HTML_REMOVED] now, pride [HTML_REMOVED] joy, fresh powder [HTML_REMOVED] repop decals. The fugly red one is his last years [HTML_REMOVED] now my hand me down "rat rod". Both run parts circa 2001 [HTML_REMOVED] built for a fraction of original retail.

It's the seat extension that really got me. Then the BB height.

But really that might be the greatest fork Marzocchi ever produced.

The head angle scares me the most! On steep chutes that sucker has to be approaching a 90 degree HA. Gotta be a longer than stock shock on it to get such a high BB and steep HA.

Don't forget that the rear suspension basically locks up when the rear brake is applied so the HTA actually increases on steep terrain.

"Greatest Fork" is an understatement…. I own 4….

Good eye. Replaced the stubby 7.785 X 2.25 with 8.5 X 2.5. I knew the BB height [HTML_REMOVED] head angle would get you guys going, lol. BTW, the seatpost extension is so we can actually pedal them, you know, uphill. :agree:

Props to Bryce for the pic imbed!
