^damn, that's freaky! never saw those before; i assume none made it to the west coast. too bad you didn't hold on to that (and the ird). i certainly regret selling / binning a few parts over the years.

looks like that show [HTML_REMOVED] shine was laden with sweet hardware. would have loved to check that out.

Around that time, 1999 we started doing stair gaps and breaking square taper BBs. I broke that frame a bunch of times and eventually it went back. It just wasn't designed for that.

I still have the Leader but I sold the IRD, which I regret to this day since I got basically no money for it and it's probably the rarest fork I've heard of. It would be so cool to have it around.

interloc made some rad stuff. i had the switchback brakes - they predated v-brakes, but had similar stopping power (though were a bit finicky to set up):

Oh my god. The DeKerf frames made me faint, nearly. I soooooo wanted one in the 90s.

^sweet. my holy grail would be a fillet brazed toad (or brodie romax or rocky wedge); even scarcer are these:

i won't post the whole bike pic, as it's a skinny tire'd, rack mounted, commuter abomination build (as too many sweet vintage bikes inevitably end up).

check out the seat cluster details; if you can id what the two custom braze-ons are for, you're officially old.

These were so pinner. But such an important part of the evolution. The horst link was named after AMP Research founder Horst Leitner who eventually licensed the design to Specialized (I believe). This bike was hugely influential.

i've got a couple hite-rites rattling about in the tickle trunk as well. i used to run one back in the day (late 80's-early 90's i guess). not perfect tech, but did the trick reasonably well. ird even made a remote lever mechanism for it:

it's a bit stupefying that it took a quarter century for the dropper concept to finally be implemented effectively.
