He maybe , but when you look at the 3 big companies you mention , they spec a lot of their bikes with their own HOUSE !!! brand parts . So they are not buying stems , bars , saddles and seat posts, and such for most of their models as it,s a house spec item .

My $6000 Kona came with a Kona brand stem perfect example .

not that I went through every model, but it seems YT uses a lot of RF and Renthal.

The model in the OP only uses a Sram derailleur and shifter.

It sure is impressive the value that YT is offering when one looks at their part spec…

From the models (both Jeffsy ) I looked at I have to agree , the top of the line of each model seems to use Renthal . Every model under that is RF stem and bars , I can,t think of any other brand using that much . Also every model has a Reverb post of some kind as well .

I am surprised they have not entered the more aggressive 29" market yet . Same deal with Kona , but I guess they will be next .

Giant's giant cost strength comes from standardization of manufacturing. Not a plethora of wheel sizes. Don't hold your breath.

A $60 USD remote is $115 CDN from Lambert. It's like they want their business model to fail.

I see Tippie is now riding for YT as well as Jordie Lunn. Canyon also has their WC DH team and rumours are they will have North American distribution this fall for 2018 model year. Gotta figure YT's bet with Gwin paid off, race proven.

I really hope this is the start of some re-balance of the cost in the bike industry. Its bloomed in recent years like Vancouvers housing market. $14K for a pedal bike is just wrong.

As a distributor, they are going to have to make their 30-40% markup to survive.  There is no denying that the system is broken when you can order it straight from the original vendor online.  It is tough for a distributor to compete with direct online sales in terms of bottom line dollar figures.

^The distributor should have the advantage of buying in bulk from a supplying company. A customer buying one off not so much.

Cube and Radon aren't able to ship to Canada. It appears to be a website issue
