Probably just a slick marketing decoy for the full suspension frame that is dropping soon?

Would never have guessed that Chromag enters the maekez of the clipless pedals one day.

I’ve seen a few of the full suspension Chromag adult bikes on the trail. There was one outside their shop last time I was there too. Coming soon?

I saw one on Seymour a few months ago up close.  I had 2 Chromag hardtails and gave it a full inspection.  Nice bike but I think there is too much competition from others on the FS side, the hardtail side is something Chromag has a good grip on.  I am sure it will sell but with so many choices from proven FS brands out there.....and introducing rear suspension opens up a whole can of worms in pivots, breakages (planned and unplanned) and other warranty claim issues, real or imagined.  I understand why they did this but I think sticking to HT's would be wiser on this and focus on what you do best.  I have to admit I have NOT ridden one or tried one, but only going on supposition.

Both pedal options look good. Too bad I just got my dad a pair of XT Trails last month.

xt's appear to be a better pedal (unless you want colors). lighter / cheaper / easier engagement / proven bombproof.

Or 530s (SLX level) which cost less for the same weight / function / bombproofness as XT Trails.

SLX everything is the direct path to Min-Max without having to think about it.

I have it in my head that XT & XTR have higher spring tension than the lower models, does anyone know if that's still true?

I kinda want these Chromag pedals (non-BA) as an colourful, cooler alternative to the XT Trails that I always run, but it seems like they JUST missed the mark on this one.

XT's/XTR's never last too long for me...  Saints are more durable and can be rebuildable but comes with a cost of weight.

Ya I get 2-3 years out of XT Trails then chuck em as axles never seem to be available when I need em and I just can’t be bothered to faff around with those tiny bearings any more. 

Practical rebuildability might have me considering the Chromags next time, but pedals are one of those products that I’m pretty wary about experimenting with so I dunno…

It used to be that the M530s were actually more durable than the XT Trails (which would develop play relatively quickly).

I'm not sure it still applies because I think Shimano updated both the 530 (now ME700?) and XT Trail pedals in the past few years. I'm still on 530s. Have spare 5 year old pair of 530s that I put on test bikes etc. and they just keep going.
