cassettes - what would you do?

My 11sp XX1 cassette is skipping in the big cog. Ive gotten a really good 2 years out of it!
I don't follow gear very much so I don't know what the best fix option is.

There's all these big cogs that you add to existing cassettes. Eagle conversions. Im very confused!

Its a 10-42 and I use that 42 ALL THE TIME - having bigger would be helpful even.

Aside from replacing with a suitable cassette, what are my options?

Get a 10SP and add a big single cog from One Up or someone?
Get a big single cog from One up or someone and add it to my 11sp with the worn ring and convert to Eagle?

Its a 2014 bike that I love. Sworks Enduro 29r. I want to keep it running well.

Going to 12spd will be an expensive project.

I can't speak to the quality/durability of this level but in SRAM world it's inexpensive: https://www.jensonusa.com/SRAM-XG-1150-GX-11-Speed-Cassette

Then maybe a slightly smaller chainring to extend the range of that 42t cog.

Thanks - GX is def an option! In my experience on other bikes it works pretty well. If I go straight replacement that's probably what I will do.

Sunrace 11spd 11-46 and a new freehub body.

Cheap cassettes forever. Minimal outlay and minimal drivetrain changes.

^that looks like a good option! I like the 46 and that my current 42 1st gear is the 2nd gear.

Will have to explore what coversion to nonXD entails. Although this looks like its SRAM compatible? Does that mean its XD?

I've been really happy with my e13 cassettes and always seem to find deals on them. They sell the 3 big gears (aluminum) separately so you don't have to buy a new cassette when this happens.

9-46t (XD driver) and you can downsize your chainring if you want without losing any top end speed. More range than Eagle or 12-speed XTR. Recommend running SRAM chain for best shifting with them.

If you want to save money long term switch to a Shimano freehub and then you can use the XT 11-46. That kind of hinges on whether you need the 9t cog.

Those 9 cogs have "issues" being so small. There's a word to describe it but I don't remember it at the moment.

Something about the lack of chainwrap? Heard about that, but I've never had any issues myself. To be fair, I'm not in it very often.

Reality is that unless I keep the wicked carbon wheels on it and put something else on when I sell it, Im not likely to wear out another cassette, so conversion from XD probably does not make sense at this point.

Im hunting for e*13 deal. Even ignoring that 9t, the 46 would be great and with an ability to replace the big cogs, awesome. That looks like the ticket, but want a deal given theyre $400+

Actually a Sunrace 11-50 will also work with 11 speed SRAM... and 11 speed Shimano.. we've done a number of these conversions at my shop with good success.l

Yeah - I just don't dig the spacing 42t - 50t - which is what I like about the 46t version. And what i didn't love about GX Eagle (other than the Deore level quality for XTR level pricing, I hated that).

No, that's not XD. It has a HG type lockring. I don't believe they have an option that is an XD replacement cassette.

I have the E13 TRS+ 9-46 on 2 bikes and my buddies ride them as well. Nothing but good things to say. They're light (lighter than XX1 or X01 Eagle cassettes), have a hair more range than Eagle, and shifting has been great. I use mine with XT buy my buddies use theirs with SRAM. I actually use the 9T cog more than I thought (in the Bike Park when I ride it) because I paired mine with a 28T front ring (I know I'm lazy).

The TRS+ 9-46 cassettes are $224 on Jenson or Backcountry. Thats about $300 in Canuck bucks...
