i just read an article on DT-swiss's carbon rim wheelset and the mag really liked them. no idea on how much the reynolds are worth but the DT- Swiss were mighty affordable at $3300 USD(you can get them at universal for 2400 hun).

I like carbon in the right places but I have way too many scratches on my rims to use it there

Yeah, I have a hard enough time keeping my white rims from matching the colour of my tires.

I like carbon in the right places but I have way too many scratches on my rims to use it there

they are xc race wheels. I doubt you'd be scratching them the same way
