Camera talk: Best compact point and shoot for riding photos?

Hey folks,

I'm tired of taking dark blurry photos on an iphone of both biking and skiing. Looking to get a separate point and shoot to get some decent shots and memories.

The goal: a compact camera that excels at taking photos of fast moving objects in low light conditions. Here's the criteria I've come up with:

• Seems like the key to the goal above will be to have a big sensor
• I'm no pro here, a good auto mode is gonna go a long way
• Must be portable/point and shoot. No chaning lenses and what not.
• Must have wifi to share photos to my phone. Im not looking to store dozens of GBs on memory cards and hard drives.

My brother pointed me in the direction of the Sony DSCRX100. I was using Pinkbike's photo gallery, where you can select by camera type, but 99% of photos are of gear and parts. I want to see some action!

Would love to hear your experiences, and it would be awesome to see some examples of what you've captured on your devices. Even good examples of smartphone photography!

Keep in mind that you might want to use the camera while wearing gloves. Once you have a shortlist, maybe go to a shop and try them out with your riding gloves on.

The Sony RX100 series is pretty good. Best compromise between sensor size and portability IMHO.

It will still require some basic photography skills to get the best out of it.

Check the Cannon G7x, main competitor to the Rx100 but usually a few $$$ less.

I have the Sony RX100 V (M5). I've been very happy with it for a compact camera I can ride with.

You can't really use auto-mode for most action shots for mountain biking, often in low light. But its not hard to just use the shutter priority mode if you don't want to mess with too many settings.

you can find good deals on a used sony NEX series camera and for portability run the pancake lens
