You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. All bikes without floating brakes will experience some degree of brake influenced suspension interaction. Single pivots actually brake squat, not brake jack. What you are trying to deny the existence of is the loading of the suspension produced by getting on the brakes on a single pivot REGARDLESS OF SPEED, preventing the suspension from cycling correctly. A bike with real brake jack would be the old yeti lawmill before it had a floater.

Calling me a pussy because I say brake "jack" exists and insinuating I'm slow is definitely helpful to your arguement. You may only "notice brake jack when going slow," but it is there anytime you are on the brakes if you don't have a floater. Its just a fact.

guys this man knows what he is talking about!!!

I had two bullits and rode them without and with a BT floating brake.
The "brake squat" was virtually eliminated when I put the floater on. I would never ride a single pivot again without a floater on!!! (but I agree its a relatively pricy addition.)
I have not noticed very many folks on the Shore who ride bullits with floaters so then I ask myself how can you really know what the difference is?
Cheers

Of course, when talking about the Bullit (or any other single pivot bike) brake jack is a misnomer. It's actually brake SQUAT.

If you want brake JACK, you can ride my 1995 Trek Y-bike. Applying the brakes causes the rear suspension to extend, making descending quite exciting.

Ah well…

isn't a brake jack the thing that gets the little springs off when you're
changing your brake shoes (which of course are the shoes you wear
downhill skatboarding to stop at the bottom).

i'll say this, one of the guys I ride w/ went from a bullit to a vp free.
I used to keep up to him, and with his new bike…i still keep up to him.
You can call it what you may, all it really does is stiffen up the rear when
you brake. Most of my braking is front brake, I don't brake in a turn…ok
maybe a little…so i'm not that concerned w/ it.

that said, i'm sure i'll change my tune when I get a demo haha…

the bullit's an awesome bike, easy to maintain and can do anything you
throw at it well, maybe not great at everything but pretty damn good.

Go team bullit!!!

You won't feel brake jack if you're not on your brakes in a turn. Single
pivot served Peat and Cedric for years. We'll see this year if the v10
makes a diff in his riding.

Why not use Fabien Barel as an example for this thread? A single pivot bike with a floating brake? And whats that thing he keeps winning….

Fabiens Stab is actually set up with a custom floater to make it squat into turns. So its not free from brake interaction at all.
