First the frame arrived. It's the latest in mtb technology. Pretty sure this is what next seasons WC Dh bikes will look like.

Integrated bar and stem.

With a beast like this good brakes are important. Going OG with some Sturmey drum brakes.

Rear wheel gets brakes and gears all tucked into the hub. This thing is a tank, the hub is 1400g. Wheels are 36h 4x lacing, absolute tanks.

Test fit some parts now that I finally have the wheels built.

Still lots of work left.

Have not put it on a scale yet, don't think it's going to win any of the weight weenie threads.

She's a beauty.

I love the old klunker-style cruiser frames. Think you're gonna like what I've been working on…

That's pretty bad ass. It's funny that over the years DH bikes have gone back to a vaguely similar geometry to the old clunkers. Slacker angles / longer stays. Makes me wish that the late 80's / early 90's steep / short / low phase never happened. I dread riding my '91 Rocky Equipe off a kerb.

It's running…

No change in the looks yet, I need to order some braze on cable guides and play around with a MAPP gas torch and learn how to do that. Then pick a colour.

The headset is still a basket case of danger. Basically it's a 1 inch headset that has a cup size of 30.2mm floating around inside a tube that is meant for 32.7mm.

The gearing is a little tall for climbing up Lonsdale. Might look into some one piece cranks then I can use a BMX front ring.

So basically lots of stuff on the "need to do" list. But it rolls, pedals, stops and steers so I've been riding it to work. Best thing is I found a cup holder that holds my coffee mug.

Oh almost forgot the bb is super low so I can throw sparks with my inside pedal when coming hot into a corner with some speed, kinda fun kinda scary when in flip flops.

I like it as is…no need for pesky paint..

You can all go to hell. I'll be joining you shortly and I'm bringing beer and cheetos.

I would like to see how it rusts/ages once rain season gets here.

In a perfect world I'd start looking at going black chrome on some parts, the Chromag black chrome bars are a wicked effect, more subtle than standard chrome.

If it gets any paint it will be some dull flat black rat rod style.

I clear coated my BMX cruiser several months ago and it's still fine. Granted, it doesn't go out in the wet much but I've ridden it a fair bit.

Careful to watch the tension on that clamp. I had an incident…much crying and coffee spilled upon the ground.

Crying for coffee?

It's not like it is some exotic IPA.

Unless it's that exotic coffee bean that gets eaten then pooped out by some animal.

Noted to keep an eye on it.
