i kinked my front hoseline last night on a nice bail on cbc….grrrr  at $65 for a new line i'm just going to ride it and see how long it lasts
bail…..I'd call it more of a "detour" or exploring an alternate line……down the bank……off the trail….into the bush
I'd get it fixed, you know it'll fail just as you nose the front wheel over something really steep.
i'm not sure what it is. i believe i'm bleeding it correctly. the only thing i haven't done is bleed it bottom-to-top method which would help air bubbles to rise up and escape easier. my calipers are aligned… my pad wear shows this to be true. i have the hope braided housing. my levers don't feel soggy or soft… so i don't think i have air bubbles in there. it seems to have the GRAB in the beginning 70% and then decreases somehow.
use the process of elimination, try your rear brake pads on your front brake, mount your rear brake on your fork and try it on your front rotor, etc.
if you diagnose it so that it only happens with your front brake check and tighten all your fittings and visually check for movement on all 6 pistons.
you are bleeding it with 5.1 fluid and not 5 right?
my hope mono 6 in front still sucks. i can't make myself endo even if i wanted to.
And that's a bad thing? :S

No, no! That would be thinking!

Yep it was a very cool bail Judy, you were still sorta upright, still sorta on the bike and moving forward a good 40 feet from where you left the trail.
.
using Dot 4. mono6/front and Mono4/rear. I'm going to change my pads if that helps. I've never had awesome power from Hope… ok power but not Juicy-snappy-type power. I use to run mono4 front/rear and that wasn't any worst… or better.

Don't hurt yourself with the self congratulations
I find it quite pleasurable actually.

Then the rumours are true. You do ride with a mirror.

HA i gave new meaning to the term "unintentional braiding"
yeah i guess you're right :(
… used to, now its a picture of myself taped to my top tube. You should try it sometime.

I'm not that shallow nor vain.
Been having some major brake pad problems.
2 weeks ago put in new pads and had no probs with them. They locked up the front wheel great. Then yesterday for no apparent reason they don't anymore. When I try to lock them up for endo's the wheel keeps moving.
Checked the whole line and in the caliper, no leakage. Cleaned the rotors yesterday and so on. Rinsed and tried to break in. No luck, even did the Tery mud trick.
Today went and picked up new pads in case it was the pads and cleaned the rotors again. Terry told me to break them by breaking hard at 30kmh, 30 times. After I did that no change, so did the mud trick again with zip improvement.
Will bleed the line next.
In 2 weeks I've spent close to $120 on brakes stuff. Man, never had this much hassle with HS 33's. Maybe it's time to plan to go cable disk or even go back to hydralic rim brakes.
Also need to fix ASAP.
Same here, my pads are all messed up, i just bought 2 sets of them and nothing. I dont no what to do

Q: what do disc brakes and a walrus have in common?
A: they both like a tight seal :D
i still think you have a seal leak problem in there somewhere. could also be a crack in one of the joints or hose ends. i had a similar problem a few years ago with my C2's and i just needed a new seal for the master cylinder.
