Yup, its the evolution of the big box store. Mom and pops struggled when they moved in. They complained and said "support a local business". Turns out that for many things a store front, any store front, isn't even necessary.

But I do feel that its very offside to go to a store, try stuff on for sizing and order online. People should not do that.

Agree. I love my deals on bike/ski gear and buy a lot online, but trying stuff on in a store and ordering online is a dick move and not fair (unless it's MEC).

I think I am going to wait and see how real world use of Shifts turns out before taking the plunge. I do plan on buying two pairs for next winter so don't want to be stuck with gen 1 if there's a flaw identified.
