I read the april part and thot no way he gets it that fast, then I just notice it said 2022 and I believe that, consider Santa Cruz was sold out for 2021 last november

Considering the Loooong lead time are we not talking 2 model years ? How much shit could change a bunch in > a year? Parts spec, pricing, what is cool, what is new what is no longer cool ??

You'll be able to pick up an SWorks Enduro, I doubt many people are going to drop $14,999 CAD on the 2021 model.

In other news, you can buy a well equipped Chevrolet Sonic for less than an S-works Enduro

The old Knolly adage "don't sell your old bike until you have your new frame in hand" applies. Don't accept "it's almost here, it's clearing customs, etc etc".

Maybe this is a good year to have a second shock, second seatpost, etc. I just sent my Reverb to Fluid Function - I don't expect it back until end of next week (8 business days). It's going to be a frustrating summer if you don't have backups.

Funny had a banner ad for some online bike part company pop up yesterday on Google. I clicked on it and all the Shimano group sets were sold out except the low end crap.

My bike finally showed up. The shop ordered 4 and each was sold as soon as they could take orders. Just waiting for my helmet. Should be here this week.

Marin Alpine Trail XR , I changed the brakes to Codes as well. Hoping the weather stays mild. Might try to get into a area with less snow and test it out.

I bought a complete drivetrain (GX/X01) with two chains in December and it was the last the store had unless you wanted to drop $$ for the premium gear... Has the bling bling gear sold out as well now?

Two things I’ve been reminding my friends & frenemies:

A friction shifter will allow you to combine almost any derailleur / cassette with the right chain and even some of the time with the almost-right chain. Having one around isn’t just a replacement for any shifter in your fleet it’s also the skeleton key of intercompatibility! Now you can run Eagle with that old 9-speed cassette in your bin.

You’re less than a dollar away - in the form of two bolts - from turning any derailleur into a tensioner and, by extension, any bike into a single speed. Replace those limit screws and answer the universe’s call for you to be in the wrong gear all the time! Any chain will do, it’s still easy to get an SS cog if you don’t want to just leave your cassette on, and away you go. Beautiful.

I turned my 86 Marin into a SS bar bike by leaving it in the same gear all the time
