Big Tires - Wet Roots/Rocks?

I am looking for 29 2.5-2.6 tires that will grip wet roots and rocks this coming Winter.  I have used DHR 2.4, DHF 2.5 combo and it's pretty good, but really want a bit more volume.  Suggestions?  Discussion?

Also looking for 27.5+ 3.0 tires for the same conditions...

Specialized has 2.6 Butcher in 29. I’m running them, they are closer to 2.52 on the caliper but seem/ride higher volume than the dhf 2.5 on my other bike. 30mm internal width on both.  Off-road.cc measures theirs in the review at 2.6 on a 40mm internal rim.

New Schwalbe Hans Dampf II comes in 29x2.6 but dunno how it compares to the Magic Mary which I would assume is better on wet roots in ultra soft...

I have a plus HT with 2.8 Butchers and they are pretty good, but ideally they would be 3.0 for winter.  Love the butchers but I work at a LBS that isn't a S dealer.  Schwalbe doesn't make soft compound tires larger than 2.35.

Maxxis makes the Minions in 27.5 2.6, but not 29 2.6.  I have a Magic Mary and will probably pair it with a DHR2 2.4, and wait for the 29 2.6 Minions to come out.

Maybe instead of bigger volume try some inserts and then run lower pressure?

I just discovered these new ones from Vittoria that look like a good compromise between Huck Norris minimalism and Cushcore excessive weight:

I have a 2.6" Butcher on the front of my Stumpy, I love it.  I bet it would be even better with a more modern, wider rim too.  Good pricing too.
