Best Saddle of all time

I think you all missed the point of this thread. It was to talk about how modern saddles suck in comparison to my 1990 Ti Flite. Not sure how we got so far off topic.... ;)

Butt seriously. The flite saddle. This thing is so beautiful

This just doesn't compare....

After 2 months on the saddle that technology built, I think RAH has a point. The SQ feels very inorganic, and while the sit bone points are covered and there's nothing particularly wrong about it besides the lack of padding and the hole in my shorts that the scooped out rear profile made, it just doesn't feel natural.

I was looking at my WTB Volt and Chromag Trailmaster and missing the soft rounded over tail with no edges to catch on and the thick soft padding overall and thinking "this is what a saddle should look like".

Upside of purchasing the SQlab was that it made me realize the importance of measuring sit bone width. Mine are a 130mm horse-ass width, which translates to a 150mm saddle. I've been riding saddles 1cm too narrow all this time.

Next saddle when this one wears out will be wide and as organic as possible. Deva looks the part.

I have a titanium flite and I don't find it comfortable at all.

Too bad it doesn't fit your butt. Such a great look for most any rig. 

Want sell it? One of mine was bent in a crash last year :(

Yep, for my the SQLab is just flat out too hard. Even with the elastomers removed I just couldn't take it. I am playing with a Koda on the full suspension and an ergon SM Sport on the hardtail, both of which seem decent but not quite perfect. 

I picked up the Power Arc based on JBV's mention above. Will report back after a dozen rides or so.

Have a few shorter rides on the power arc, in the 500-600m of climbing range and it feels good but it's really past the 800-900m range that I start to hurt. But overall it's promising. I even bought the little SWAT seat bag for it that clips on and off the bracket that bolts right to the seat which is super slick.

The only thing I notice is it bruises up my inner thighs when descending, but the bike only has a 150mm dropper right now. Have a 200mm en route, we'll see if that solves that particular issue.

Did a ride on my SQlab last week. First pedal in 2mths. No discomfort at all . My Ergon or MoonDT where not that comfy after that much time off.

Was just looking at the spec from an old 2006 Scalpel I had with the best saddle of all time on it: Fizik Nisene 2 HP Ti. 

Wonder if any of the modern Fizik saddles retain that wonderful flex shell technology or luxurious padding.

FYI Deva has a pretty short nose. 

I really like saddle. Have two of them but after running a Chromag Mood I realized how short the nose is. It might go by Devo only now. 

Still need to measure my sit bones

Sitting on cardboard gave me the same numbers as the shop's fancy gel pad measurement and the SQlab rep's measuring tool.

so if you have a saddle you like and the cover starts ripping its easy and way cheaper to fix cover rips/holes  with either aqua seal or VLP liquid vinal repair

Just picked up a new SDG Bel Air 3 and daaaammmn is it comfortable. Good looking and light too. Highly recommend!

I know I started this thread saying the flite was the best saddle of all time but I'd like to revisit that and propose that my new saddle is the best of all time! I looked at those Bel Air 3's but they just weren't colourful enough.

I still have to actually ride it, but I feel like my butt will love the colours.
