Just keep riding your Marz. A 4 year old Marz will be better than a new RS.
and with Marz going under, next time you need a part , you might be screwed . . . Get a Fox, best product out there, end of story.

Yep, too bad they're tits up. Great forks the last few years. I'm running a 2012 888 ti and a 55 ti. Both awesome,
But what am I going to do next year? Rockshox? Gasp. I said I was done with them too.
My 07 Totem solo air is still butter. But I also barely ride it… thats my 2 cents to this thread.
protect tom mcdonald at all costs
well did 3 laps on it today and so far i am happy and in love :P feels amazing.
This baby, right??

I've been running the Dorado for a full year(actually longer i think) now and i'm pretty impressed with it. I was coming off of a 2010 Boxxer, so my vision could be a little skewed, but so far it's been good. 2 rebuilds in the year i've had it, but the first one was early(just in case) and free and the last one was just done recently before I went on a 2 week riding trip….(once again, just in case).
It does seem like everyone is jumping ship at Marzocchi, which is pretty crappy as they seem to be coming on strong these last few years.
I wonder what Bryson Martin Racing is gonna be coming up with,as it seems he took a few key guys with him when he left Marzocchi last month……any e-rumours?
anyone have some links to this demise of marz? I could only find the stuff from a few months back.
edit: never mind… bicycle retailer to the rescue!
The last good Fox fork I had was a '09 36 with the hi and lo speed compression knobs on the bottom. Ever since they flipped the damper: sub par IMO.
that's what i've been on for the last 3 years. low maintenance, sweet riding
every development since then (kashima, fit, tapered steerer) has seemed pretty uneccessary, and had mixed reviews
now they're dropping the stanchion size to 34mm? good luck with that

Don't count them out yet.

Ah ha!! See, this was my concern/contemplation. I get a bike that's brand new, a 2012 model, it states on the spec 2012 Fox 40 RC2, I get the bike - the only discernable difference I note is that the pics of 2012's models have the lettering in black on the stanchions just below the brace. Mine doesn't have the lettering on the stanchions but is still considered a Kashima fork. So my guess is that RockyMountain is loading their FlatLine WCs with 2011 model F0x 40 RC2 forks, NOT 2012 models.
So it goes. I'm now lesser of a man.

^ It could also just be that your fork is OEM.
Craig at Avalanche racing has a solution for replacing existing guts from Marazzochi,Rockshox, and Fox . using your old leg castings and redefining the internals to a more progressive feel. A friend of mine just got a cartridge for his totums, and i'm ready to grab one for my 06 40's.Upgrading boasts a 2000 hr interval before rebuilds or maintainance.

Yeah a few people (including me!)on NSMB have the avy cartridge.
Definitely an improvement over my 2010 Boxxer team original damping!

Rumour has it they will be making another shiver 2013-2014 ish. I'll be first in line for it as the shiver is sickkkkkkkk.
Clunking is for retards.
Ill be second to throw down money on this .If its not a shiver but a up to date 2014 shock built and designed by Bryson martin .If it has 38 mm stantions and a open bath, moto style cartrige, and magnisum internals.
I believe in older marazocchi products i have 2 pairs of shvs and 1 monster t. I still ride reguardless of the weight they are the stongest and best.If they can reproduce the valving and shave some weight it will rock my world.

My Shiver DC is 10 this year. But its young compared the '98 Grimeca 4 pots I still run. After seeing how cheap Hope's are going for these days, well, those will be hanging on the shop wall soon. The Shiver though, I can't fault it other than weight. Great fork.
